If I can do it, anyone can

One day a friend asked, “What would you say to a person who wants to go to college but is afraid to go?” It did not take me very long to answer. I had to explain my story. I told her in high school I tried everything to get out of class. I did not want to do any work. I was also in special needs classes; I was doing elementary work in high school.

Then about one year ago I wanted to go to college. I was scared that I would fail, but one day I finally decided to give it a shot. I emailed a couple of schools. I was still very nervous and scared. I had to talk to a couple of those schools and it still seemed hopeless for me. Then I had a phone call from Ivy Bridge College. I could not believe how much I enjoyed the conversation I had with them. They made it seem like I could do it, so I decided to go with Ivy Bridge College.

I was still very nervous and scared that I would not make it. When I found out about having English right away I was terrified. I thought for sure I was going to fail, but I had a conversation with my success coach Doreann. She made me feel so much better. She explained to me that I needed to stay positive and that I could pass it if I tried hard. She even helped me get a tutor. When I got the tutor for English my grade was a 65%, but I brought my final grade to a 76%. It was very hard for me to believe that I actually did it. My success coach was great, she helped me realize that I can do well if I work hard. I have only been in school for about 3 months now, but I am so happy that I decided to go back, and that I chose the right school, and have the best success coach. I would recommend people go back to school and I recommend Ivy Bridge College. If I could do it any one can.
